The masks to wear and others to stuff in the glove compartment as the “backup”
Joshua Boulet, Features and Entertainment Editor
The market for face masks is finally full of different options after months of failing to make homemade ones. All of these masks are available in-stores in the Greenville area and online at their respective websites.
Best of the Bunch: American Eagle pleated face masks
American Eagle sells their own masks, sometimes even with a scrunchie, in a variety of simple patterns. They sell a pack of three for $12.95 and are arguably some of the best. The pleated design makes talking easy, and the ear loops have adjusters. They even feature the standard wire to reduce glasses fog. Their designs also have a solid variety with high quality prints.
Best budget mask: Old Navy triple-layer cloth pleated face masks
The name might be a bit much, but Old Navys masks are some of the cheapest options available. For just $12.50, they sell 5 masks with a variety of prints. The pleated design makes talking a breeze; even yawning doesnt displace the mask. However, people who wear glasses are out of luck since these dont have a built-in way to deal with the fog issue. They have new holiday designs that are quite trendy.
Nice mid-range mask: Hobby Lobby Fashion Face Covering
Hobby Lobby sells several varieties of their non-pleated face mask. These are priced at $8.99 for two masks and some individual masks for $5.99. While the smaller design might cause trouble for someone with a beard, theyre high on comfort and feature a wire to stop the fog problem. The mask handles talking pretty well, but a yawn will still displace the mask.
Good for some, bad for others: Target Goodfellow & Co fabric face masks
Target went the budget route with their masks at $4 for two masks. But theyre some of the hardest to work with on this list. They come in two sizes, but their ear loops are non-adjustable, and the designs leave plenty to be desired. They carry sizes S/M and L/XL without adjustable ear loops.
