Archive Dive: North Greenville Mascots

North Greenville University has not always been known as the Crusaders. In the past 100 or so years, NGU has had three different mascots before becoming the Crusaders. The first one being the Moonshiners, which was the mascot between around the 1920s up until around 1950. Then NGU’s mascot became the Black Widow Spiders around 1951 up until 1953. The mascot changed again to the Mountaineers or for short the Mounties in 1953. Today, the current mascot is, of course, our beloved Crusader which has been NGU’s mascot since 2002.
