Forgotten Knowledge from the NGU Library

At North Greenville University, the Hester Memorial Library is home to books full of countless knowledge. The selection ranges from sports to any subject for school. Because of the large variety of books, some fascinating books can fall by the wayside. These are five books in particular you can look at to learn more about topics obscure or world famous.
Photographic History of the Civil War
This book was written by Thomas Yoseloff and published in 1957. Yoseloff goes into deep detail about the Civil War and adds pictures to the mix. This lets the readers see what emotions and conditions these people were living through back during the war. These books also cover numbers from purchases and other seemingly minor details to create a comprehensive visual history. There are 10 beefy volumes covering the entire war and every battle.
Mind Over Money
Claudia Hammond write this book in 2016 and talks about the psychology behind money and how people can learn to use money better. The book explains peoples� relationship with money and where it starts and how money can be a drug but also a helpful tool. She references many studies that explain how to spend money well. Hammond then goes into detail on how people can save money and avoid common pitfalls.
School is Dead: Alternatives to Education
During the 1960s writer Everett Reimer thought of an idea to write a book on the alternatives to education. This book talks all about schools and what they do, where they came from and how they work. It also covers the financial issues of education and how people can learn with less. Granted, the book was written in the 60s and much has changed since then. Nevertheless, it serves as an interesting look back to the ideas of the time.
Keeping Faith Memoirs of President Jimmy Carter
This autobiographical book was published in 1982 and goes into detail about Jimmy Carter during his tenure of Presidency. The book gives impressions of Jimmy Carter�s life while in the White House. The crises that were faced and the people that worked for and against Jimmy are also talked about throughout this book. The topic of faith in particular is covered throughout this book and how Jimmy fought to maintain his faith while in office. Carter also recounts advice he received and the drama of the Oval Office.
Watching and Waiting on the Border
During the year 1917 Roger Batchelder published this book to explain his experience at the border as a soldier. Batchelder starts with a quote that reads, �To my one hundred and fifty thousand comrades, who, during the summer and fall of 1916, offered to uphold the honor and integrity of their country.� Batchelder focuses on the experiences of himself along with others working to hold the border at the time.
