Stuffed for Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving falls on Nov. 28 this year. Here are a few options for a delicious Thanksgiving meal.
Meats
Turkey
When it comes to Thanksgiving the first food that anyone thinks of the turkey. This savory meat is the staple for this holiday. It can be served as either white or dark meat. To serve this meat it can either be put on the table whole and people cut the meat while at the table or could be cut beforehand so there are pieces of turkey for the people to grab. For this meal a precooked turkey could be purchased, or the turkey could be made from scratch. This meat will more than likely take up to seven hours to prepare. Turkey can also be fried, baked or smoked. When most people eat turkey, they would prefer to have gravy to go alongside the meat.
Ham
This is the second choice for meat on Thanksgiving obviously behind turkey. Ham is still a good option just not as popular. Just like the turkey this meat can either be baked or smoked just depending on the taste of the attendees. Ham does make things easier when preparing because a side like gravy is not needed because most people do not put anything on the ham besides the basic cooking seasonings. When wanting to put this meat on the table it can either be precut into pieces for easier access or left whole so it can be cut at the table.
Sides
Just like the turkey when people think of Thanksgiving dressing is definitely the first side people think of. This side consisting cornbread goes well with turkey and leaves a great taste in most peoples mouths. Just like anything there are people out there who do not like dressing, but most people do. Most people are in a pinch while preparing food for thanksgiving, so this side is perfect it takes around 30 minutes to prepare then about an hour to cook in the oven. Once it comes out it should be a nice golden brown and placed on the table for consumption.
This very basic side can be used for almost any kind of meal out there. Just something about the pairing with either the turkey, ham or both that is just so good. Mac & Cheese has a couple of different ways it can be served. It can either be served very creamy, very cheesy or baked with a nice shell on top. For the creamier version while preparing just add more milk than cheese while with the cheesier just add more cheese than milk. For the baked way some breadcrumbs go on top the put in the oven for 30 minutes to make it golden brown. Any way this side is cooked is good and recommended.
For this side there are so many different ways it can be cooked/prepared it will be hard to pick. The first way this side can be prepared is just normal green beans on the side after being microwaved or cooked in the oven. Next there is green bean casserole which is green beans mixed with cheese, mushrooms, onions and anything else that you want to put in it. A salad can also be made with this side by just putting the beans with all the other ingredients and a nice dressing/vinaigrette.
Desserts
Sweet Potatoes
When it comes to dessert sweet potatoes can really be used in many different ways. First, they can be used as a pie which a lot of people do. A sweet potato casserole is another option that takes sweet potatoes, pecans and other ingredients to create an incredible dish. Sweet Potatoes can also be used just by themselves by opening them up and throwing some brown sugar and marshmallows inside. All of these ways to make a sweet potato dessert are very delicious and would satisfy any sweet tooth.
Pies
On top of the sweet potato pie there are also many other kinds of pie that can be enjoyed on this thankful day. For starters an apple pie is almost needed while celebrating Thanksgiving. If not an apple pie fan there is also a cherry pie or chocolate pecan pie that are also very good options to make for a good dessert.
