On Nov. 12, 2019, Disney Plus launched to the public. The mega streaming service gave North Greenville students access to thousands and thousands of hours of Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and National Geographic content to binge as they please.

Essays were put on hold, exams went un-studied for, and homework was never turned in. The North Greenville student body was held captive by the nostalgic, fun filled shows and movies that made up our childhoods.

Student Kelsea Hicks purchased Disney Plus immediately. “I was so excited to get it! My sister was staying in my dorm for a few nights and we watched a ton of old Disney movies.” Hicks said

Students weren’t the only ones fascinated by the streaming service. Faculty were also excited to watch the movies from their childhood.

“The first thing that me and my family watched was the original Jungle Book. It’s one of my personal favorites.” Eddie Fisher, who is over the media team and EMT on campus, said.

Disney launched this streaming service full of original content, as well as brand new content that has never been seen before. New Star Wars show “The Mandalorian” has Star Wars fans captivated.

Avid Star Wars fanatic Gino Ferguson absolutely loves the new show on Disney Plus. “This is the best thing that Star Wars have come out with in years. It’s the reason I even bought Disney Plus.”

College students have an even larger incentive to purchase the streaming service, as it only costs $6.99 a month, or you can bundle Disney Plus with Hulu and ESPN plus for only $12.99 a month.

Disney is currently dominating the streaming world, and with its library full of Disney, Fox, and National Geographic, competitors may have to think twice.
