Fall’s Well That Ends Well – Fall Break Update

On Thursday, October 17th, Fall Break started for all North Greenville University students. Fall break is something everyone looks forward to. Class is cancelled, and students can go home or hang out and not have to worry about school activities.
Most NGU students did the same thing on break so while asking around it was harder to find students with differing stories. Most said that they slept, or that they had some fun with friends, but some people did other things alongside these basic ways to spend fall break.
“For fall break I slept as much as I could when I was not working at the YMCA in Taylors, SC. Then when work was over, I hung out with my friends and just did fun activities to fill my time. When I was not sleeping, working or hanging out with friends I was actually in the studio recording new music that I have been working on,” said Jake Blevins, a Broadcast Media student.
“Over my fall break, I caught up on some schoolwork that I procrastinated and got most of it done. I also tried to get as much rest as I could get ready for the next half of the semester. On the Friday of fall break, I went to the Sky Top orchard with some friends and we walked around, picked apples drank cider and ate some delicious apple cider doughnuts. Then on Saturday, I went in to work at my job at a catering company,” Adam Bujtor, Business Administration student, said.
“While on break I did very simple things beginning with shopping and going around Greenville. After shopping, I went to the hospital with my family to visit my grandma to make sure she was fine. I spent most of my time with my girlfriend and her family by helping her dad with landscaping work,” Andrew Pye said, who is a Youth Ministry student.
“Break was a fun time and began on Wednesday when I watched Netflix for the entire night. Then I went to the dentist and the drag strip with my family on Thursday. Friday consisted of running a lot of errands then going to physical therapy. When therapy was finished, I went to work at the Y and had fun with the kids. The kids played games like across the ocean. After work, some friends and I went to the Peach Bowl to just hang out and bowl. Then on Saturday, I woke up sick and relaxed for the entire day,” said Margie Henson, a Secondary English student.
Unfortunately for students and faculty, fall break ended on Sunday, October 20th. Most students would prefer the break last longer since it was so relaxing. Since it ended everyone had to come back to school. Some people did other things over break like catch up on work or other activities, but everyone can say that this break was much needed. This break gave students the motivation to finish out the semester strong.
