On Saturday March 23, 2019, North Greenville University will be hosting the annual A Heros 5K event. This walk/run is to remember all the soldiers who fought, died, and lived for our country.
A Heros 5K will take place at both North Greenville Universitys Tigerville campus and at Furman University this Saturday.
This event was founded in 2010 in memory of SPC. Geoffrey Whitsitt who was killed in action in Afghanistan.
A Heros 5K was founded to raise awareness of those in the U.S. military that make sacrifices every single day and to raise money to support the servicemen and women and their families in South Carolina.
The event has grown into an organization with a dedicated volunteer staff and reaches out to the community to help other military veterans and their families who are hurting.
All of the proceeds from the 5K will go to the Upstate Warrior Solution. UWS is a non-profit organization in Upstate, South Carolina. Last year, the 5K raised over $10,000 for UWS.
Upstate Warrior Solution connects with warriors and their families to help with their needs and to guide them through developing solutions in many areas of their lives.
