Archive Dive: First Graduating Class as a high school and junior college

Taylor Loughry, Staff Writer

North Greenville University was originally founded as a high school at the end of the 19th century by a local Baptist association. Next, NGu became a junior college and finally transitioned into a four-year-university.

In honor of Thanksgiving and upcoming graduation, let’s look back and be thankful for how much NGU has grown and changed over the years into the university we have now. Here is a picture of the very first graduating class of North Greenville High School in 1902 and the first graduating class of North Greenville Baptist Academy and Junior College in 1936.
