Woman brings “emotional support squirrel” on plane, gets removed after 2-hour standoff with police

Cindy Torok and her emotional-support squirrel, named Daisy, boarded the Frontier Airlines flight from Orlando to Cleveland earlier this week.

Torok had a letter from a psychiatric nurse practitioner, stating that she had an anxiety disorder. The letter also requested that the airline allowed her to be accompanied by her emotional support animal in the cabin of the aircraft.

The problem was the letter didn’t specify that the animal was actually Daisy the squirrel.

When airline officials realized that Daisy was a squirrel, they informed Torok of their strict policy against such animals on their flights. She then refused to get off the plane.

When Torok refused to leave, it forced everyone on flight 1612 to exit so the authorities could come escort her from the plane. Authorities said that after a nearly two-hour standoff, the passenger vacated the plane and that they “did not have to take any further action.”

All the passengers that were ordered off the plane applauded when Torok was finally removed from the plane in a wheelchair by police.

Torok took a later flight to visit relatives in Cleveland, leaving Daisy behind with her daughter in Orlando.

Florida suspect “udder” arrest after herd of cows chases her into custody

Jamie Young, accused of stealing a car in Florida, crashed into a stop sign and was forced to ditch the car. Young immediately began running on foot into a pasture.

As soon as Young stepped foot outside of the car, a massive herd of about 20 cows started chasing after her. Aerial footage from the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office helicopter shows the driver of a stolen SUV: Jamie Young, being followed by a large group of cows.

As the pilot tracked the woman and cows, he radioed law enforcement officers below some details. “Looks like they may attack her,” the pilot describes. “Keep going southeast. She’s pretty far into the field now. If you see the large group of cows, they’re literally following her and chasing her.”

The aerial footage shows the cattle in hot pursuit, as one cow gets so close to Young, it looks like it might attack her, but then it backs away. The animals herd her across the field, where she appears to jump over a fence to escape them.

Just as Young thought she was out of the woods, the police show up and put her under arrest.

Zoo accused of painting donkeys to look like zebras

Cairo’s International Garden municipal park, an Egyptian zoo, is insisting it did not paint a pair of donkeys to look like zebras.

The zoo became a target of ridicule after an Egyptian student, Mahmoud Sarhan, posted images on Facebook of these strange looking animals. Sarhan said that the zoo’s two zebras were clearly donkeys that had been painted. Many online animal experts are starting to agree.

Zoo director, Mohamed Sultan, told a local radio station that his zebras are real. Sultan is dismissing all claims that they are just painted donkeys.

Zebras and donkeys, despite both bearing a resemblance to horses, are two totally different species. Donkeys are popular animals of burden in developing countries and were domesticated millennia ago. Zebras, meanwhile, are usually known for their black-and-white stripes.

Zebras also have large black snouts, and they most definitely don’t have smudged black stripes.
