Meet some new faces around campus

There are some new faces around campus this semester. I had the opportunity to meet a few of the new faculty and staff on campus.
This is Franklin Aviles-Santa. Aviles-Santa works with the Business Department and the Sports Management Department. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in Puerto Rico. He then got his Master’s Degree in Global Management and his PhD in International Business and Entrepreneurship.
Aviles-Santa chose North Greenville University because of the environment on campus and the ability to incorporate his faith into the classroom. He hopes to stay at NGU until retirement and experience the many opportunities the Lord has planned for him here.
This is Sara Briley. She works with the Outdoor Leadership department. Briley received her Bachelor’s Degree in Arts Outdoor Leadership from Simpson University in California.
Briley chose NGU because she was interested in the outdoor leadership program and being able to integrate her faith into the classroom. She wanted to interact with students and give back to them. Briley hopes to continue to grow here and help the program to grow.
This is Alicia Hyatt. She works as an academic counselor, but also teaches some reading classes at the school. Hyatt received her Bachelor’s Degree in exercise fitness, but then worked at Winthrop as an academic counselor and realized her love for helping first generation college students through college.
Alicia chose NGU because she wanted God to be the center focus of her job when she helped students. When the job became available, she described it as being “a blessing” since she does not have a master’s degree. Hyatt loves working here and she loves the people she works with and hopes to stay here a long time.
This is Jamison Rhoads. He works with the theatre department. Rhoads got his Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Performance at Temple University in Philadelphia. He then got his Master’s Degree in Theatrical design .
Rhoads chose NGU because he was able to share his faith in the classroom and he saw the pride NGU and the theatre department had. He could see that this university was different from the rest and felt that the motto was true. Rhoads hopes to be here a long time and would like to help the department grow as the department is poised to do some great things in the future.
