On Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018, North Greenville had its first coffeehouse of the year. Many students sang, played instruments and read poems.
Senior, Nathan Burton, opened the coffeehouse up by reading an original poem on the crucifixion.
Juniors, Ben Hamsho and Mykel Scott talk to the crowd about the Crusader football team. They discussed how the football team moved to the Gulf South Conference and urged students to attend the first home game the following week to show support.
Sophomore, Michael Thomas, plays his guitar and sings The Crane Wives by the Decemberists.
Seniors, Taylor Brunson and Jon Fordree, also the announcers of the coffeehouse, make jokes to keep attention on the stage as the next act makes their way to the stage.
Sophomore Marissa Holst, signs ‘Since You Been Gone’ by Carrie Underwood as students in the crowd sing along.
Senior, Philip Skinner played piano and sang a song from Cinderella.
A contest was put on during the coffeehouse. The first five students to follow NGU student activities on instagram won a gift card.
Sophomores Cameron Byers and Marlee Daniel played and sang Let It Go by James Bay as students in the crowd sang along.
The night ended with senior, Kevin Huefner reciting ‘What I’ve Been Looking For’ from High School Musical.
