Coming in as a new student is always a transition. It tends to be somewhat stressful because you don�t know where any of your classes are and you don�t have a whole lot of friends. Well, by this point in the semester the classrooms have been found and the friends have been made. So what�s next? Where can you go to grow those friendships that isn�t on campus? This is a list of the best places to go near campus that few of you probably know about, including a few restaurants. After all, everybody has to eat.
This restaurant serves handcrafted tex-mex food with a very unique interior style. The menu is full of a wide variety of choices that will please everyone. It is located about 15 minutes away from campus on south Main Street in Travelers Rest.
This local southern restaurant serves home cooked food in an old country store setting. The menu includes many southern traditions. It is located about eight minutes away from campus on Tigerville Road in Travelers Rest. This restaurant also offers an NGU student discount of a free drink with any purchase.
Senior, Kayla Gibson, added, �The Hungry Drover is just a really good place to eat breakfast and it reminds me of my grandma�s kitchen. It�s just some good home cooking! Also the workers are always friendly there.�
This is a restaurant that serves a wide variety of things from sandwiches, to salad to pizza. Each visit comes with great food and a feel-good experience. It is located about three minutes away from campus on Highway 414. This restaurant also offers an NGU student discount of 10 percent off your meal.
The Cafe at William�s Hardware
This is a family-run cafe that serves traditional American food. This restaurant serves very generous portions. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating comes with a view of the Swamp Rabbit Trail. It is located about 14 minutes away from campus on south Main Street in Travelers Rest.
This is a local Italian restaurant that serves food made from all natural ingredients. This restaurant is also mostly locally sourced and organic. It is located about 14 minutes away from campus on south Main Street in Travelers Rest.
Falls park is a beautiful area to visit. There are fun puzzles and activities to do while you�re there. Hidden around the downtown area are nine small mice to find. You can look up hints online to help with the hunt. There are plenty of caf�s, restaurants, and ice cream shops to visit. You can take a stroll across liberty bridge and take some pretty neat pictures of the falls beneath it.�
The Greenville Zoo is a fun place to visit. You�ll be able to walk around and see a variety of animals. They just had a baby monkey born in August, so head over and see it. A visit there would probably take a little over an hour. Right outside the zoo is Cleveland Park. Greenville Zoo is open throughout the year other than holidays and they�re open from 9:00-5:00 p.m.
This fun park is for all ages, and they have plenty to keep you entertained. They have laser tag, over 100 arcade games, three types of go-kart tracks, and much more. They also have one of the largest Johnny Rockets restaurants in the U.S. In 2016, they added a new 4D interactive experience. This is definitely a place to go with a group of friends because they do offer group rates for 10 or more.
This is a fun indoor entertainment experience for friends and families. They offer a series of fun attractions and entertainment such as: indoor mini-golf course, laser tag, a climbing wall, bumper cars and so much more. This is the perfect place for a birthday party or a youth group activity.
