NGU men’s track and field update

The NGU men’s track team is coming up on the Conference Carolina’s Outdoor Championship, April 27. 

The Crusaders’ last competition ended with four top finishers and personal records set. 

Adrian McGee won his long jump competition with a 7.29-meters that was also a top-10 distance for NCAA. The men’s 4×100 and 4×400 took home a first pace victory by JJ Sherman (So.), Harold Hilton (Fr.), Jordan Walters (Sr.), and Tevin Richardson(So.).

March 15 started the outdoor season for NGU track and field. The first half of the year is all indoor competitions, which the crusaders finished fourth out of 11 teams in the indoor conference championship in February. 

The first outdoor competition was held in Charlotte, N.C. and Ken Drummond, senior, set a new personal record for 100-meter with a time of 10.98.

Throughout the outdoor season thus far, Adrian McGee, freshman, came up on top with a first place win in men’s long jump with a distance of 6.94-meters. Richardson had a first place time of 21.82 seconds in 200-meter, followed by Sherman with a 22.02.

The men’s track and field team will compete in four more competitions with the NCAA Division || Outdoor Championship wrapping up their season May 24.
