We are shown thousands of news stories a day between watching TV, using our phone, surfing the web and talking with our peers. Every once and a while we come across stories that sound so bizarre that you almost can’t believe it. Yet the crazy headline pulls us in and we divulge into some unbelievable news happening under our noses. Here is an overview of some of those stories.

 Angry Badger Closes Portions of 500-Year-Old Scottish Castle

The tunnel at Craignethan Castle was closed last week because of a “very angry badger” said Historic Scotland, which manages the property. The badger apparently wandered in from the nearby forest. They worked to entice the animal out with cat food.

Romanian Court Rejects Man’s Claim that he is, in fact, Alive

Constantin Reliu learned in January that he was dead. After more than 20 years of working as a cook in Turkey, the 63-year-old returned home to Romania to discover that his wife had had him officially registered as dead. The decision, the court said, is final.

NYC Poop Train Sits Idle in Small Town Alabama

A trainload of human waste from New York City is stranded in Parrish, Ala., spreading a stench like a giant backed-up toilet. The sludge-hauling train cars have sat idle for more than two months, Mayor Heather Hall said. The poop train’s cargo is bound for the Big Sky landfill, about 20 miles east of Parrish. The landfill has been accepting the New York sewage sludge since early 2017. Previously, it was transferred from trains to trucks in nearby West Jefferson, but officials there obtained an injunction to keep the sludge out of their town.
