For rising senior Raoul Hunt, track is not something he takes lightly or for granted. Hunt, a member of the team’s 4×400, spoke on growing and being shy, something that he admits he still deals with. He wanted to find something that would allow him to open up to people and help venture out of his shell and to keep him in shape for football. “I prayed for something to do because I am shy and did not have many friends,” said Hunt. He normally prefers to stay within himself.

Hunt talked about how he is just fortunate to still be running at the college level since he has been in and out of school for the last couple of years for personal reasons. North Greenville track and field has been a saving grace for Hunt, being on the verge of giving up on school. Hunt remembers the times being back home working two jobs and not being happy, but NGU has allowed him to be around positivity.

Hunt has big goals he has set for himself for his senior season next year, but now looks to focus on this season. “My goal this year is to get healthy and continue to get better in track and more importantly, life,” said Hunt.

As for as life after NGU track and field, Hunt has aspirations to become a sports agent and to possibly become an Olympian. “I have the work ethic but I do everything myself, so I pray God will help lead me to the path I need.”
