Ever just wanted to watch a TV show with your parents without cringing during inappropriate scenes? Here are a few TV show suggestions that are safe and reflect Christian values.
This Is Us
This series is about the lives of two families and their kids. It follows the lives of Kevin, Kate and Randall who are known in the show as the Big Three. Kevin and his sister Kate were born on their Dads, Jack, 36th birthday. Their biological brother was stillborn, so the parents, Jack and Rebecca Pearson, adopt an abandoned black baby that was born the same day named Randall. Flashbacks are presented throughout the show about Jack and Rebeccas lives before they had kids.
Duck Dynasty
This TV series is about a family named the Robertsons. They live in West Monroe, La. and operate a duck call and decoy business. Going from rags to riches, this Louisiana family is living the American dream, but they still stick to their values and lifestyle. Willie, the son of Phil and Miss Kay, is the head of the Duck Commander while brother Jase, also a son of Phil and Miss Kay, helps. At the end of each episode, the family sits down at dinner and prays and thanks God for the meal He has provided for them.
Kevin (Probably) Saves the World
With a task sent by God himself, Kevin Finn (Jason Ritter) is on a mission to save the world. Finn is on a dangerous path to destruction with his self-serving attitude. Returning home to live with his twin sister and niece, Finn is visited by a celestial being named Yvette who then tells him of his mission to save the world.
Of Kings and Prophets
This American drama is based on the Books of Samuel. This series is set in the house of Saul years before the birth of Christ. While the 12 tribes of Israel are fighting off enemies, they are still obeying the authority of the prophet Samuel. But just after a few episodes, ABC cancelled the show as a result of low ratings.
