People to watch out for in the 2018 Winter Olympics

At 18, Mikaela Shiffrin was the first youngest athlete to win gold in the Olympics for Alpine Skiing. And at 22-years-old, she’s trying to win another gold medal.
Elena Meyers Taylor was the first American woman to lead and win the 2015 world championship in the bobsleigh competition. She is a two-time Olympic medalist and is hoping to lead the bobsleigh women’s team to gold this year.
Olympic Skater, Nathan Chen, was the first U.S. male to win the ISU Grand Prix Final in Japan in over eight years. He is also holding the title for the 2017 Four Continents champion and U.S. champion. Other skaters you should watch out for: Alex and Maia Shibutani, the 24- and 26-year-olds made ninth place in Sochi, which was their first ever Olympics games.
In December, 17-year-old Maame Biney made history as the first black woman to make the short track speed skating U.S. Olympic Team.
At 17, Chloe Kim qualified for Team USA for snowboarding. Kim was named one of the 30 most Influential Teens in 2017 by TIME magazine. She was the first woman ever to land 1080s back-to-back in her competition last year.
