For the first time in history, the number of refugees surpasses 65 million people, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

This means there are over 65 million people that fear for their lives and cannot return to their country in fear of being persecuted or killed. But, what is being done for these people? World news, a news agency that reports news from a Christian worldview, has created a list of organizations that have dedicated their time and resources to help those in need around the world. To find this list go to world.wng.org/iraqaid.

On this list are organizations from all around the world and the United States that are dedicated to helping refugees from all parts of the world. These organizations include Barnabas Aid, Cradle Fund, Open Doors, Preemptive Love Coalition, Samaritans Purse and many others. These groups work with a Christian worldview to provide food, shelter, safety, hygiene kits and medicine for displaced people from around the world that face religious persecution or other dangers.

Since every organization has a Christian worldview, they work with churches and religious leaders from around the globe to provide the items listed above.

Since the rise of ISIS, the number of refugees has risen dramatically, affecting mostly the Middle East, according to the United Nation Agency for Refugees.

In just one year the number of refugees around the world has risen 10 percent, from 59.5 million to 65.3 million. This makes one in every 113 people in the world a refugee, according to National Public Radio.

More than half of the refugees in the world come from three countries, Syria, Afghanistan and Somalia., according to the United Nation Agency for Refugees

Of all the refugees in the world, more than half are children under the age of 18, according to the United Nation Refugee Agency.

Since there is a large population of refugees that come out of the Middle East, there are organizations on the list that deal specifically with these refugees. However, every organization on the list has teams on the ground in the Middle East.

To find out more about how you can help these organizations, go to world.wng.org/iraqaid.
