Weird and unusual new stories are always fun to talk about. Have you ever read a headline that makes you read it twice because it’s just out there? Most unusual stories are never overlooked because of their uniqueness, but here are five weird and unusual stories that flew under the radar recently.
Fears squashed: Zucchini mistaken for WWII bomb in Germany
A man in Germany informed the police that he thought there was a bomb in his garden. Policed scurried over to only find that this WWII bomb was actually a 16-inch zucchini. Officers say that it did, in fact, look like a bomb. Apparently, unexploded wartime bombs are often found during construction work in Germany.
Florida women charged with DUI while riding horse
A 53-year-old women was caught riding her horse down a busy highway while intoxicated. The woman failed a sobriety test by twice the legal limit. She was charged with a DUI, and animal neglect for endangering and failing to provide proper protection for the horse.
Farmer dead after cow rebels against him
A 72-year-old farmer Nathan Paris was killed when his cow reportedly rammed him against a fence. First responders attempted to revive him but he had massive chest trauma from the incident. Paris was rushed to the emergency room where he was pronounced dead.
Teens disguised as bushes in New Jersey park may face charges
Three teenagers in New Jersey known as the “Rahway Bushmen” started pranking people by disguising themselves as bushes. Two of the teenagers dress up as bushes while the third teen lookouts for victims. The unidentified teens says they are just trying to make people smile, but the police warned them they will be arrested if caught in the act.
Montreal man receives ticket after singing while driving
Taoufik Moalla was pulled over and given a $149 ticket for “screaming in public,” CTV News reported. Moalla said he was singing to the famous C+C Music Factory song “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)” when the cops pulled him over. The officers asked Moalla if he had been screaming, but that he was singing instead. Moalla was given a ticket with the description “to cause disorder by screaming” violates “peace and tranquility” – an offense that is punishable by a fine up to $2,000.
