At the intersection of Chinquapin Rd and North Tigerville Rd, a new three-way stop sign is now in progress.

According to campus security, the Department of Transportation gets the final say so as to traffic decisions made on campus. According to a campus security officer, “I’m sure someone at the university had a say in whether it was needed or not.”

Students are known to speed down the road very quickly or are in a hurry to get to where they’re going. Students are also known to cross the street on N. Tigerville Road to get to Einsteins, The School of Theater or the Art Building.

The public was notified of this change for a couple of weeks prior to the signs being active. It went live on Thursday, October 19 around noon.
