(BEA) WINNER!
THE AWARD GOES TO!?
Three wonderful students went above and beyond, excelling in their field in broadcast and digital media. Clayton Caldwell, Alyssa Ashe and Mason Freitas are three busy working students within the Mass Communication field her at North Greenville. While they are busy working and managing the Vision TV segments as well as, editing, filming and producing these films, these three students always find the time to use their talent to produce a package that are good enough to be submitted to the Broadcast Education Association. Sep 21-23, in Pittsburg, PA all three students had the opportunity to attend a Super-Regional Conference that stands for the premier academic media organization. This organization was to strive in the excellence of media production and career advancement for educators, students and professionals. At this conference the students had a privilege of winning an award due to the excellent packages that were produced within our news segments. The award that was on the certificate was titled, NGU Presidental Search. Alyssa Ashe was the reporter, Mason Freitas filmed the story and Clayton Caldwell edit the film. This filmed package was about updating the university and student body on our campus new president. It also included the quality and traits that our school’s faculty was looking to have in our next president. Speaking with Alyssa Ashe, she spoke about the wonderful opportunity she had and how she couldn’t turn it down because being hands on with producing new production is only going to allow her to strive in her field once graduating. Alyssa also added how she loved her passion in building news stories as she interacts with her viewers all the time. Alyssa said that she loves what she does and wouldn’t change it for the world. I asked Alyssa about how it felt when she heard the good news about the award that her and two other students received and she said,” “For the National Religious Conference, I contributed as the Assistant News Director last year by helping put together our newscast that won first place over schools across the country. The newscast included two of our best anchors, Clay Webb and Madison Styles, a promo about Jake Hardin’s trip to India and some of our best work from that semester. I wouldn’t want to trade this moment for the world and I am blessed to have such wonderful piers succeed with me through our journey of broadcast and media” said Alyssa Ashe, Broadcast Media Senior. Along with Alyssa, Mason and Clayton will be graduating this may and moving into their field. We wish them luck and pray that they have a lot of success.
