Humans of NGU: Elizabeth Snipes
Travis Willmann, Staff Writer
Elizabeth Snipes, a junior education major at North Greenville University explained that the reason she loves working at the General Store is because she loves to meet new people.
She also explained that her job allows her to expand her horizons and confidence and talk to people that she might not have met otherwise. She said, I am an introvert, so it is hard for me to meet new people, but this job forces me to get outside of my comfort zone.
She gets to have conversations with people while ringing them up and it leads to many new friendships and times for her to be a good example.
She also stated that not everyone who comes through the doors of the General Store is from the university, so this allows her to touch the lives of the general public and show them the love of Christ.
Setting a good example for Christ is her top priority. Her work ethic and customer service shows the community what it means to be a Christian and how Christ makes the difference in her life. Her job really allows her to serve while spreading the love of Jesus to anyone she meets, even if it is just in what seems to be a small way.
When asked what her favorite part of her job was, she said it was definitely meeting new people, but that she also gets to make money while doing something she truly enjoys doing.
Interacting with people that she has never met and creating relationships with people is always fun, but she explained that this job allows her to meet a lot of new people every day. She gets to talk to some of the same people who come in every day rather than only being able to talk to them on occasion, so she gets to really make and nurture relationships.
