Sara became interested in counseling in high school after hearing about a place called Big Oak Ranch, a Christian home for kids who have been abandoned, abused, and neglected. She did her research and realized she wanted to do something for these kids. She wanted to get involved. Counseling gave her a way to be their lives, and it also gave her a chance to help those in need.

Some of her favorite things to do are travel and hang out with her friends. She also loves football. Her favorite team is Alabama and her absolute favorite thing to do is spend time with her dog, Louie. He is a black poodle mix she rescued while she was in Texas. His favorite thing to do is go to the park with his human friend.

She has a brother named Stephen who is three years older than her.

Something Black likes about North Greenville University is that it is beautiful here. After living in Texas, where its flat, and New Orleans, where there are swamps and marsh, she loves being able to see the mountains and have something pretty to look at when she goes outside.

Her favorite part of her job is being able to help people work through their problems. Seeing people having breakthroughs in areas that once caused them a lot of pain gives her great pleasure. Those powerful moments of surrender, when they realize they dont to go through the pain alone, are what make her love her job.
