The senior year for athletes is one that is seen as a special time as students begin to put the seal on their athletic careers.
For Senior Offensive Lineman Casey Stewart, this season is going to be one to remember; the 6’2, 295 pound Pickens, SC native says he “has his eyes on the prize” believing that this football season will be special for him.
Gearing in a total of 36 games at Left Guard, just two seasons ago a red-shirt sophomore, Stewart combined for a total of 35 knockdowns. Last season, Stewart’s consistent and strong play earned him NGU’s Most Valuable Offensive Player award, an award that is normally handed out to skilled positions, such as quarterbacks, running backs and receivers.
Stewart’s goal for the season would be to finish the year off as National Champions and to finish with All-American Honors.
“I’ve been blessed to play college football for this long and I’m grateful for every opportunity,” said Steward. On life after football; Stewart is a Criminal Justice major graduating in the spring and would love to go into the field of Law Enforcement.
