According to Travelers Rest city officials, construction workers will soon break ground on a new location for Chick-fil-A, located on Benton Road, in front of the Travelers Rest Wal-Mart and between Arby’s and CVS.

Construction should start this summer if everything goes according to plan. The new location should be open for business in September 2017.

The new locations will attract the local college students from Furman University and North Greenville University.

Johna Owen, sophomore from North Greenville University and former Chick-fil-A employee stated, “I am excited that I will no longer have to drive to Greer or Cherrydale to use my calendar card.”

The students of North Greenville will be pleased to know that the new location is only 10.3 miles from university, where the Cherrydale location is 15.9 miles from the university.

Owen also stated, “Chick-fil-A is my favorite fast food restaurant, and now I will be able to go eat lunch there between my classes.”

Students from North Greenville often leave the campus between classes to grab lunch. Now with the popular restaurant coming soon to Travelers Rest, the students will no longer have to travel very far.
