Who should win NBA MVP: Fear The Beard vs Mr. Triple-Double

Who should win the NBA’s regular season MVP?

There are a few athletes that stand out. The main two that most are voting for are Russel Westbrook and James Harden. These two athletes are similar but completely different at the same time. Now that James Harden is considered a point guard (formerly a shooting guard), this makes the comparison that much harder because now both play the same position and are competing for the regular season MVP.

Westbrook’s resume is growing rapidly, but the “bearded-assassin” Harden is growing as well. Below are the regular season stats of Westbrook and Harden. As the season closes, there is one question left to ask: who wins the most valuable player (MVP) award.

These two guys are great basketball players, but when considering who wins the MVP award, everything is fair game. Of course, the statistics matter, but how heavy should wins be weighed when considering each player? If wins are held to a higher standard along with great statistics, then Harden is the winner of this debate. Harden’s team has 55 wins with only losing 27 games. Westbrook’s team has 47 wins while losing 35 games. This year is by far the hardest year to decide who should win the MVP award.
