Its no secret that NGU is increasing in popularity. NGU has received 30 percent more applications for admissions than last year, and commitments to NGU have increased by 72 percent compared with last year, according to the Admissions Department.
The number of transcripts received has increased by 28 percent. The number of applications has increased by 58 percent in the past five years. 38 percent of students have submitted more test scores in 2017 than in 2012.
According to Michelle Moses, Admissions Office Manager, the increase of advertisement has had a positive impact on NGU as well as the increase of social media. NGU now has a Facebook along with multiple Facebook pages, a twitter account and an Instagram account. Andy Ray stated that, The improvement of the NGU website has made a huge impact on recruiting as students and parents can quickly find the information needed and can easily find the application for admission.
The number of students interested in NGU has increased since 2011 by over 2,000.
The Office of Admissions is where people who are interested in joining the NGU family begin their journey.
The Admissions office receives students applications, transcripts, test scores and other various documents. The admissions team has numerous responsibilities in order to keep balance and increase the number of students coming to NGU. The admissions team works year around to maintain order in the enrolling process.
The enrolling process begins for a student when he/she shows interest in NGU by sending in their application to the admissions office. After their application has been processed and entered into the system, the admissions office will send that student a letter or postcard asking for SAT / ACT test scores and a high school or college transcript. When the admissions team receives all three documents from the student, the student is then ready to be reviewed.
The Director of Admissions, Andy Ray, will then review all the documents received from the student in order to make a final acceptance decision. If the student meets all the standards, he/she will continue their journey through the admissions office. The admissions team then sends out rejection letters and approval packets. Along with a certificate of acceptance, the student will also receive a Next Steps letter explaining what to do next. Each document from the admissions team is handled with precision, love and care.
The admissions team is active year round in the effort to attract more students to the University, said Andy Ray. We in the admissions conduct open house programs to give students an opportunity to visit NGU and gain information. Overnight at NGU gives students to experience life here on campus.”
He added that through Admissions, students also are offered campus tours and personal interviews where questions can be answered for both the student and their parents. Our admission counselors visit highs schools daily to talk with students, teachers, coaches and counselors to build interest in the university.
“The admissions team also represents NGU at college fairs, career fairs, homeschool conventions, concerts, conferences and other similar events. The admissions team sends regular communication by email, postal services, phone, and social media to answer questions, build interest, and secure commitment to the university as well, said Andy.
