Welcome to the Vision Online’s 2016 live election coverage. Check this page throughout the night for updates on battleground states, the candidates and reports across the country.

The 2016 race that began 595 days ago and involved 22 major candidates is expected to end tonight as millions of voters head to the polls across the U.S. to cast their ballots for president, vice president, their representatives in Congress and other elected officials.

Donald J. Trump is the Republican on the ballot and Hillary R. Clinton is the Democrat on the ballot. They’re joined by Libertarian Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Jill Stein are two third party candidates who will appear on some or all ballots. Evan McMullin is another independent candidate who could perform well in his home state of Utah.

In order to win the presidency, a candidate must win 270 electoral votes — a majority of the 538 electors. The Vision Online will be watching the 13 battleground states: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.
