NGU’s actors bring “required chaos” to Hamlin recital hall on Halloween night

On Halloween night, Required Chaos premiered a costume-themed performance. Hamlin recital hall was packed with 250 students anticipating some of NGU‘s most talented students.
The show featured skits that involved three to four players. All skits were completely improvised and lasted about five minutes. The actors chose some scenarios that were performed at the last improv show in April. However, there was something unique about this eventthere was a brief intermission to hold a costume contest.
A few dozen students in the audience dressed as their favorite movie characters, superheroes and political figures. Everyone in attendance made a unanimous decision: the winner was a student wearing a Darla costume from Finding Nemo carrying a plastic bag full of water.
Junior music major Michael Cheek was in attendance and participated in the costume contest.
“I was dressed up as Sting, a famous professional wrestler and born again Christian,” said Cheek.
The improv which received the biggest audience reaction was when the actors were given random propsin this case steering wheel covers and pom-pomsand had to use them in any way they could think of.
“That part really showed how quick they can think,” said Cheek. “This improv show was the best yet in my opinion. It’s definitely something worth seeing as an NGU student.”
