Homecoming

North Greenville University played Wingate University on Saturday, October 29 for its homecoming game. NGU managed to win with a score of 34-30. Stevie Martin was crowned Homecoming queen.

The Spitfire Grill

The play titled “The Spitfire Grill” will be performed November 10-12 and 17-19 at NGU. Tickets for the event can be ordered online.

Comey reopens Clinton FBI investigation

On Friday, October 28, FBI Director James Comey reopened the FBI investigation of Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s emails after additional emails were found. The investigation was reopened less than two weeks away from the presidential election.

Man breaks record for dstance paddled in pumpkin

Rick Swenson of Minnesota recently broke a world record after paddling an 1,100-pound pumpkin almost 26 miles. Swenson was originally attempting to grow the world’s largest pumpkin, but after realizing that his pumpkin was not going to break the record of size, he decided to break a different record instead. Swenson now holds the Guinness world record for longest distance paddled in a pumpkin.

Earthquake in Italy

A 6.6-magnitude earthquake hit Italy on Sunday, October 30. While many buildings were destroyed by the earthquake,  there have been no reported deaths.

New Lebanese president

Michel Aoun has been elected as President of Lebanon by the country’s parliament. Aoun is the first president Lebanon has had in two years, ending the power vacuum that existed in the country.
