North Greenville University athletics currently has six facilities on campus, which host NCAA athletic games and events for the school’s 12 different teams, including men’s and women’s soccer, basketball, lacrosse, volleyball, tennis, baseball, softball and football.
Student athletes at North Greenville have the opportunity to train in one of the best weight rooms in all of division II athletics.
Victoria Wojan, cheerleader for North Greenville, said, The new facilities give the cheer team more motivation to work out and an all around better workout due to the variety of equipment.
Another recently completed facility is the Jan McDonald Softball Field, located in the NGU Athletic Complex behind the tennis courts.
According to Athletic Department Director Micah Sepko, the new NGU track and field facility will be finished during the summer of 2016.
The next facility the university is hoping to raise funding for would be the Basketball Gymnasium. The existing gymnasium was constructed in 1950. Not only is it used by basketball and volleyball teams, but it has become a place for physical education. and sport management courses to be taught.
