NGU Future President: A peak into desired characteristics
Miranda Bradford, Associate Writer
With the presidential race in America beginning to take full swing, North Greenville University begins its own search for a future president. Below students list characteristics they desire the future NGU president to possess.
“We need someone to not be afraid of being personable,” stated James Garcia, senior mass communications major. “If you try to talk to him he won’t call two body guards and be like ‘hey, stop.’ I think that’s a big deal. Otherwise what’s the point of a president besides making big choices.”
“We need someone who has integrity,” said Emily Fry, freshmen elementary education major. After a pause she jokingly added, “someone who has the characteristics of Michael Scott.”
“We need somebody that doesn’t micromanage,” stated Will Armstrong, senior business major. “Someone who will hire people and assign specific rolls to them and check in on them but trust that they will do their job. We need someone who will promote the university and not serve their self interest.
“I think North Greenville needs someone who is not afraid to change things cause a lot of stuff at our school has stayed the same throughout the years,” stated Amy Coleman, junior accounting major. “We need someone who is not afraid to go against resistance and say our students need a, b, and c.”
