This Super Bowl will feature two of NFL football’s most talked about quarterbacks, Peyton Manning (“The Sheriff”) and Cam Newton (“Super Man”). Don’t miss kickoff at 6:30 p.m. as the Panthers’ no. 1 offense faces off against the Broncos’ no. 1 defense.

Meanwhile in the NBA world, the Golden State Warriors continue their dominance throughout the league. The Warriors are at no.1 in power rankings with a 44-4 season so far. At this rate, the team stands a good chance at breaking the record for most wins in a season (currently held by the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls team with 72 wins). The Warriors’ current head coach, Steve Kerr, was a member of that team. The team is dominating in three-point shooting and out-scoring teams by a large margin. The Golden State Warriors have not lost a home game in over a calendar year.

International

In the international world, soccer is in no way lacking in star power. Two soccer players remain neck-and-neck for being recognized as the best player to ever lace up a pair of soccer cleats: Cristiano Ranaldo and Lionel Messi. Between the two, Ranaldo and Messi have scored over 1000 goals (1003 to be exact thanks to Ranaldo’s last outing against Espanyol.) The rivalry between the Ranaldo and Messi is like no other in the game. However, this season Ranaldo leads Messi 19-12 in goals.

Campus

This past weekend, the North Greenville track and field team traveled to Clemson, S.C. to participate in the Bob Pollack Invitational. Some key performances came from Kaleigh Roach, Leah Austin, Shelinch Wilder, Georgia Delts and Ambria Shaw. Each finished at the top going against Division I and Division II schools.
