Miss NGU 2015: the winner and the contestants

Sixty years of pageantry was celebrated on Oct. 18 at the Miss NGU pageant at North Greenville University. Each of the contestants participated in a private interview, physical fitness activity, talent contest, modeling of evening gown attire and an on-stage questionnaire.
The winner of this year’s Miss NGU Pageant is Christal Potter. She is a senior who lives in Florence and was also given the Physical Fitness Award.
For the next year Christal Potter will be an ambassador for the school and will compete for Miss South Carolina in June.
“She will represent the school whether it be for donors or perspective students,” said Pam Farmer.
The winner of the Miss NGU pageant is awarded with a $1,000 scholarship for her work throughout the next year.
The first runner up was Valerie Bostick, a junior from Greenville.
The second runner up was Rachel Huber. She is a freshman from Taylors and won the talent award.
The third runner up was Chasie Coley, a freshman from Landrum.
“Chasie Coley was voted photogenic, which is what the students voted on last week in the cafeteria,” said Farmer.
The fourth runner up was Ashely Campbell, a freshman from Moore.
Maressica Sawyer, a sophomore from Greenville, won the Community Support award.
Macy McDonald, a sophomore from Greenville, won the Miss Congeniality award.
Kaitlynn McCollister is a freshman from Greenville.
Jeanna Gillespie is a freshman from Spartanburg.
