When visitors step into the TReats smoothie shop in downtown Travelers Rest, they enter a whole new world.

Inside the doors of this quaint little storefront lies a world of options waiting for every patron. Guests are greeted with a friendly smile and “Hello!” from store owner Joyce Bridges.

TReats offers a variety of juices and smoothies using a variety of fresh ingredients and fruits, such as  “The Swamp Rabbit,” “Roarin’ Orange” and “Black-N-Blue.”

With a made-to-order menu that will satisfy any craving, TReats is the perfect place to stop by and relax after a long day with a delicious drink.

While the shop has been open since 2014, it has only been under the ownership of Bridges for a month.

When the previous owners suddenly had to move out of the area, Bridges and her daughter, Dawn Hawkins, decided to buy the shop in order to keep its home town spark.

TReats is located at 305 S. Main St. in Travelers Rest.

An outside organization was interested in buying the smoothie and juice bar, but Bridges knew this unique place needed to be preserved.

“The company was going to come in and change everything. They were talking about using processed fruits. We need everything still fresh,” said Bridges.

Bridges and Hawkins wanted the roots of this small-town business to stay the same.

Bridges said she attempts to treat every guest with a kind smile and with the spirit of Christ.

Hawkins, aNorth Greenville University alumnus, helps her mother at the shop on the weekends.

TReats is located at 305 S. Main St., Travelers Rest. More information about the shop, including new smoothie options and special promotions, can be found on its Facebook page. All NGU students and professors receive a 10 percent discount.

TReats will introduce new items, like the pumpkin smoothie, and a chance to win a free smoothie or juice at its grand re-opening on Sept. 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
