The free-to-download parking application is available in 150 cities and is now in use in over 30 parking lots and garages in Greenville, including the many Lanier parking areas.

The app connects to credit or debit cards and allows users to find and pay for an open parking spot in a moment’s notice. Upon arriving at the parking garage, the user can simply use the mobile barcode or present the code to the parking attendant.

When attending a scheduled event, the app also allows the reservation of a spot 12 hours in advance. It also gives the driver directions to both the parking spot and to the user’s final location.

For frequenters of downtown’s many events, this app could be a game changer.

Greenville native of 18 years, CJ Kennedy, said “Parking is definitely an issue for me downtown. I often struggle to find parking in the main garages and have to park elsewhere, where I risk being ticketed or towed. This app could draw me to downtown even on its busiest weekends.”

Park Whiz has the ability to search for the closest parking to the user’s location or find remote parking that the user my need in the future.

This application is not only a time saver but also a money saver, as it offers the rates for any available parking lot in town.

Lanier parking employee, Ethan Russell, has high hopes for the app, “Many of the streets get clogged up with people looking for parking, as the number of spots are limited. This app could really help a lot of the problems with downtown Greenville’s infrastructure.”

“Many of the streets get clogged up with people looking for parking, as the number of spots are limited,”  he added.
