In its first semester of existence, The Vision NGU website placed second in the South Carolina Press Association’s annual collegiate contest for best overall website.
The competition featured colleges from all over South Carolina. “We are very pleased for this great accomplishment. It was a long year, but it was such a great experience for everyone involved,” said editor-in-chief Jeremy Wetherton.
Wetherton also said, “The judges liked a majority of our content, organization and writing styles.” He added, “I am very proud of the website staff members. They definitely deserve the award over me.”
The Vision NGU began publishing in August 2014 when the mass communication department decided to eliminate “The Skyliner” student newspaper and focus on digital media. The judges looked at the website as it was published during the fall 2014 semester. NGU competed against schools of similar size all across South Carolina.
