Taking Aim: NGU professor releases new book pointing Bible readers to Scripture.

Pointing aspiring Bible scholars in the right direction, “Seven Arrows: Aiming Bible Readers in the Right Direction” by Donny R. Mathis II, a professor of Christian Studies at North Greenville University, and Matt Rogers, the teaching pastor of the Church at Cherrydale, provides a comprehensive and insightful guide to effectively studying the Bible.
The intent of the book is to aid Christians who are frustrated with their current analysis of Scripture. Mathis and Rogers hope to provide a practical study guide that allows Bible readers to understand passages from the Word of God more fully, as well as make those passages applicable to the Christian life. The book flushes out a systematic and in-depth guide to Roger’s original “7 Arrows of Bible Reading.”
“It removes the mystical, scary part of the Bible,” said Donny Mathis.
Inspiration for this book came last summer when Roger’s was ministering to a new believer on how to read the Bible. Rogers led the young man through his seven steps; however, the young man was still discouraged with his understanding of Scripture. Mathis and Rogers decided to create a book that would guide a reader through a detailed process of the “7 Arrows of Bible Reading.” Both authors hope that this book will help new believers or seasoned Bible readers on their quest to better comprehend and apply the Word of God.
“It could be beneficial for anybody who wants to read the Bible and apply it,” said Donny Mathis.
“Seven Arrows: Aiming Bible Readers in the Right Direction” was released on Feb. 23, 2015, and is presently obtainable on “Amazon.com ” in print or “Kindle” form.
