TIGERVILLE, SC – A 6-foot, 185-pound place kicker and punter has high hopes and aspirations for his career after college.

Justin Gravely comes from the small town of Pickens, S.C. and played the role of lead kicker for Pickens High School. After graduation he signed with the North Greenville University football team and began his college career in 2011.

During his freshman year, Gravely jumped into the starting role as a place kicker and kickoff specialist. After his first season with the Crusaders, he ended the year with a perfect record in PAT (Point after touchdown) attempts and few short field goals making him the leading scorer with 99 points.

“I was scared out of my mind” said Gravely when asked about his first PAT attempt of his career as a Crusader.

Gravely’s second season began with him having to adjust to changes as a new coaching staff was brought on.  Regardless of this change he still ended the 2012 season with perfect PAT attempts and set a school record by knocking in a 47-yard field goal.

In 2013, Gravely had added to his list of jobs by becoming the team’s punter. He, of course, did not let down by averaging 41.8 yds a punt on 29 attempts and was awarded the honor of NCCAA All-American.  He had a great season place kicking as well, knocking in numerous field goals beyond 30 yards.

Gravely is off to another record breaking season this year as he is 7 for 9 for field goal attempts, including hitting from an impressive length of 43 yards.  He began the 2014 season off by being named an NCCAA Preseason All-American, putting the spotlight on him to perform and obtain a chance at the next level.

As he wraps up his final season with the Crusaders, Gravely’s sights are set high on the next step after his college career as he has met with his coaches and is preparing to attend pro days to showcase his ability.

“I’m excited to see where my talents can take me within the upcoming year,” said Gravely. “Whether it’s with the NFL or CFL.”
