Students take a trip to the SC Legislature

Sammy Dewey, Staff Writer

A group of 12 students from North Greenville University just recently arrived back from a South Carolina Student Legislature (SCSL) trip in Columbia, S.C.

The purpose of the trip was to debate mock legislation while increasing political skills. All of the students also brought bills with them to see if any would possibly qualify to go further in the bill making process. One bill actually made it into the S.C. Legislature and three went on into the government branches.

Instead of hosting the job fair in October, which will be pushed to November, Josh Putnam decided to go on this trip to further broaden NGU’s political outreach. A current representative for the House in the South Carolina Legislature, Putnam is a great source for anyone at NGU who is interested in getting more involved with politics.
